Senior Mechanical Engineer

Description

Work collaboratively with our team of project managers, engineers, and designers to create high quality designs for a variety of clients/projects. This position is specific to the heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) field. Successful candidates will have creative problem solving skills, strong organizational habits, and a commitment to client service. We are seeking candidates with a thirst for applying and advancing their skills.

Qualifications

Registered Professional Engineer (PE) – 10 to 15 years of experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
Knowledge of building codes and standards such as IMC and NFPA
Equipment sizing and selection (chillers, boilers, AHU’s, fans, ductwork, pumps, pipes, etc…)
Knowledge and experience in cooling and heating load calculations using Trane Trace or Carrier HAPS
Past experience that allows for specification writing and specification editing
Competency in Microsoft Word and Excel

Additional Attributes a Plus

Working experience with chilled water plants, boilers (hot water and steam)
Working experience with combined heating and cooling plants (CCHP)
Working experience with Autodesk, AutoCAD, and Revit
Excellent written and communication skills
Self-motivated and eager to design and teach others

Electrical Engineer

Description

Able to complete electrical construction plans and specifications for multiple types of buildings and facilities with oversite from Sr. Electrical Engineer. Work includes lighting, power and low voltage systems. Understanding of building codes and NEC is required.

Perform electrical calculations for loads, short circuit and breaker studies to produce high quality deliverables for our clients. Demonstrated success working with team members across all disciplines. The selected candidate will work with the current Electrical Department staff and report directly to the Electrical Department Manager. Potential for advancement for the successful candidate.

Professional Requirements

Registered EIT or PE, preferred
Experience in consulting engineering environment is strongly preferred
Must have competency in AutoCAD, Revit, Microsoft Word and Excel
Knowledge of updated building codes and requirements

Education/Experience Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required
3+ years of post-graduation experience in the design of electrical systems of buildings preferred

Additional Attributes a Plus

Experience in consulting engineering environment is strongly preferred
Experience in micro grids and prime power generation
Effective interpersonal and people management ability
Excellent communication skills (interpersonal and written) with your collaboration with team members in a multi-disciplined environment
Interest/experience in the application of green engineering principles; LEED AP certification is a definite asset

Description

Project Manager

Description

Candidate would serve as the lead Project Organizer as part of a multi-discipline project team to produce MEP, Structural and Architectural design/construction drawings and specifications for various clients.
Strong communications skills (verbal and writing) is a big requirement as the candidate is responsible to communicate and correspond with our other disciplines within the design team and representatives of the client organization to complete work efficiently.
Candidate will work with existing clients and new clients
This person will have responsibility and opportunity to bring in and develop new work opportunities and clients.
Position will require meeting client representatives at project site to review scope of work.
Position will require developing project man-hour estimates and budget through coordination with departments heads.
Responsible for creating and keeping a project on budget.
Position will require reviewing client, request for proposal (RFP), and develop a written response.
At times, position requires the coordination and writing of technical evaluations and studies.
A strong candidate would also provide technical and design services in support of projects as part of a multi-discipline project team.
Knowledge of current local, state & federal codes, design standards and regulations is a big asset.

Professional Requirements

B.S. Engineering
Professional Engineer (Pennsylvania) or ability to acquire PA PE quickly through reciprocity preferred
10+ years of relevant engineering experience
High technical ability, interested in technology and staying current in field
Proficient in Word and Excel and familiarity with AutoCAD/Revit
Good ability to communicate and a self-starter
Requires a valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle and criminal record

Electrical Engineering Intern

Description

This position will assist in developing engineering design solutions. Successful candidates will have creative problem solving skills, strong organizational habits, and a commitment to client service. We are seeking candidates with a thirst for applying and advancing their skills.

LLI Engineering interns perform all facets of consulting engineering including field surveying existing conditions, drafting, designing, engineering, construction validation, and administration (yes... filing, printing, scanning etc.). We are small enough for you to do it all, and large enough for you to be involved in a variety of projects.

Pursuit of Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering degree from an accredited program
Assist in engineering design and documentation for various projects
Working experience with Autodesk, AutoCAD, and Revit preferred
