What is sustainable design? Also known as “green building”, the Office of the Federal Environmental Executive defines green building as:
“The practice of 1) increasing the efficiency with which buildings and their sites use energy, water and materials, and 2) reducing building impacts on human health and the environment through better siting, design, construction, operation, maintenance and removal. The complete building lifecycle”.
LLI Engineering supports sustainable design and has many LEED Accredited Professionals. LEED, the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Green Building Rating System, is the nationally accepted standard for green building developed by the Unites States Green Building Council (USGBC) membership.
LLI Engineering has participated in several LEED Certified projects, ranging from basic Certification, through Gold Certification.
